What is the best way to get rid of hangover?

Parties are great. It’s a great way to unwind after a long day at work, or to have fun with friends. Only problem is, drinking more than a few rounds may result to hangover. There’s the splitting headache, dizziness, severe thirst and nausea. You may say “I’ll never drink again” to yourself, but it’s too late for that. Since you’d need to fix yourself as fast as possible, here are the best ways on how to get rid of a hangover.

BANANA

You might laugh at this one, but bananas are actually effective for calming the stomach. If you want, you can also make a banana milkshake with honey. The milk rehydrates your system, while the honey makes up for the lost fluid in your body. Bananas are also rich in electrolytes, which is effective for rehydration.

ICE COLD WATER

Drinking alcoholic beverages will dehydrate your body, hence the severe thirst when you wake up. To get rid of hangover, you can actually drink ice cold water instead. Several glasses should be enough or two glasses for every glass of alcohol (although I doubt if you counted the night before).

SLEEP

If you don’t have to rush to work or school the next day, sleeping hangover off is actually effective. By giving your body enough rest, you give your system a chance to boost up, minimizing hangover symptoms when you wake up.

CHICKEN SOUP

No, this is not only effective for flu. If you think about it, flu and hangover actually have a lot in common. They both cause headaches and nausea, so it’s not a wonder why they have the same remedy. A bowl of hot chicken soup and a glass of orange soda actually works for me, and I won’t be surprised if they do the same thing to you.

LIME

Lime helps in stabilizing blood sugar, which will help a lot the morning after drinking. Simply mix a teaspoon of sugar and two teaspoons of fresh lime juice into a glass of water, and drink it. You can either have it warm or cold, although I find that cold is more refreshing.

ASPIRIN

Of course, who would ever forget good old aspirin? A pill is enough to take care of the headache—one of the most common hangover symptoms. You can also eat fresh fruits along with it, which is also effective in replacing the vitamins lost during your drinking session.
